        Introduction to MBR Technology

          Membrane bioreactor (MBR) is one of the most advanced wastewater treatment technologies in the 21st century. It is a new type of wastewater treatment and reuse process that combines traditional biotechnology with high-efficiency membrane separation technology. After MBR process, the turbidity and suspended solids of the produced water are close to zero, and the effluent can be used as reclaimed water to realize the recycling of wastewater.

        1、The sludge concentration is high and the treated effluent quality is good. The concentration of activated sludge in MBR bioreactor is as high as 8000-15000mg / L, while the traditional activated sludge process is only about 3000-4000 mg / L; the suspended solids and turbidity of MBR effluent can be close to zero, and bacteria and viruses can be removed, and the effluent can be directly reused.

        2、The process flow is short, the volume load of the device is large, and the land occupation is low. The volume of aerobic tank in membrane bioreactor is one third of that of aerobic tank in traditional treatment process, and the secondary sedimentation tank is omitted.

        Enterprises have plans to expand production, but the existing wastewater treatment facilities cannot meet the demand after the expansion.  The sludge concentration in the MBR membrane tank can be increased to 2-3 times of the traditional method. Therefore, the use of MBR technology in the reconstruction and expansion can not only eliminate the need for a new tank, but also significantly increase the treatment capacity, about 2-3 times of the traditional method.
